5 Years have gone by and we're not any closer to getting bin Laden than we were when the first bombs were dropped on Afghanistan. In fact, we're likely further away, esp. now that Pakistan is giving sanctuary to Islamists in the mountainous areas bordering Afghanistan. Yet the Republican Party continues to exploit the tragedy of 9/11 for its own political gain and to maintain its stranglehold on American politics.

All of this new finger pointing back to the Clinton administration (which includes blaming him for the 1993 WTC attacks 9 weeks into his administration) completely ignores the more fundamental reason why bin Laden began attacking the US and its interests. Hint: It relates to Poppy Bush and the 1991 Gulf War and *nothing* to do with Clinton.

Yet, the leftist/liberal media continues to ignore the hard facts while it allows rwingnuts to repeat talking point after talking point with nary a rebuttal.

Has the deregulation of the media industry gone too far so that it cannot be reversed?

Is the Fairness Doctrine a long-lost memory?

Are we truly living under the hammer and at war with Eurasia?

Are we all Winston Smith?

3. That's not really valid comparing Daily Kos to Wash. Times, though

4. Why not? The future is on the web.
OK. I can't think of a blog that keeps up w/ NYT, but it shows what younger people (e.g. the future) are thinking. No?

5. I just meant it that the Wash. Times is not big-time
Compare Kos or DU to powerlineblog or freerepublic if you want to compare online blogs/fora.

6. True. The point I'm trying to make is that liberals do better on
the 'net, and the future is on the 'net.

True, DU doesn't keep up w/ the freeps, but Kos does.
