Did anyone watch Dateline tonight (the air tower controllers' stories)?

It examined what they went through that morning - and since then. The horror that they still have to live with - and the people they knew that were lost that morning. What they heard and saw, from the inside.

It was very moving and brought up something that I was thinking about earlier: as mad as we are at Bush, ABC, Disney and others, this Monday we owe it to those lost on 9/11/01 to take a few minutes, let go of the hate and remember them. And, remember those who tried to help, whether in the towers at the airports or on the ground at the WTC. We need to let go of the fight, for just a moment, and just feel their loss. They deserve at least that.

And then go back to fighting. In their honor.

3. Did it cover destruction of the audio tapes?? Or another lie of omission?

I am sooooo,sooooo sick of the half truths that they put out there, enough to make everyone sad about what happened, but ignoring the full details of the incident so people will know what REALLY happened.

4. No. It was about the human side of the story.

And that's why I liked it so much. And that was my point in the OP - uncovering the truth about that day is paramount, but not to the extent that we forget that human beings were lost and lives were forever changed dramatically.

Pursuit of truth is necessary but so is remembering those that are gone, without any political tie or ulterior motive. Simply and purely, a day or a few hours (or whatever you deem appropriate) to remember and honor them. They deserve that.
