5. St Louis City and St Louis County and Kansas City
can do only so much when competing with the very conservative rural areas and St Charles County.

Remember the Assembly of God churches are headquartered in Springfield Missouri (that's the Christian denomination of John Ashcroft).

Don't blame St Louis or Kansas City for MO being red!

19. Yes, but..
Not to give anything to Ashcroft, but -

to be fair, actually everyone knew that they were really voting for Jean, Mel Carnahan's wife - that is, they had announced that she would be given the seat if he won. It was too late to take his name off of the ballot when he was killed.

10. I know, I know. Sorry.
I was just so confident that area would be enough. Trust me, being from Florida I know a thing or two about those rural areas.

21. Surrounding St Louis are several very conservative
rural counties, Franklin County, Lincoln County and parts of Jefferson County (where Joyce Myers Ministries is headquartered) and they vote Bush and pug all the time.

17. You can tell you're in a red part of the state by the number of XXX shops
along the highway. You see the ads for XXX shops along those red stretches between KC and Columbia and between Columbia and St. Louis. You get near KC, Columbia and St. Louis and the signs disappear. Why is it that the liberal bastions don't have porn ads along the highways but we're the ones who are going to burn in hell?

20. If St Louisans want to go to a strip club they
need only go over the Mississippi to East St Louis and Sauget Illinois.

9. I was at the Pageant this morning and the Big Dawg
even though he confessed he is very close to the Bush family, still can move a crowd. I'd say most of the folks at the rally were there because of the Big Dawg.

Channel 5 news made sure to report that this morning Clinton spoke for almost an HOUR WITHOUT NOTES. Can you imagine dim son speaking ten minutes without notes let alone a teleprompter.

16. Clinton can hold his own on a podium w/ just about anybody.
I'm glad he helped Claire in her race against the soul of mediocrity, Jim Talent.

Loved your line about Bush & the teleprompter!

14. There was a rally this morning at the Pageant on
Delmar. The fundraiser was at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel. I was at the event at the Pageant.

There weren't alot of protesters (the Pageant is located in the City of St Louis where there are BLACK PEOPLE so that probably scared off the Repugnicans).

13. He's raising money for Strickland here
not sure why he's not helping Sherrod Brown instead, who needs the money more.

Sherrod isn't one of the Limousine Liberals, though.

22. Please don't use their slanderous terminology
Were you not one of those praising that advertising thread yesterday?? This is exactly what I was talking about. Our problem is not lack of razzle dazzle - it's buying into THEIR caricatures and using them against our own. If you can't make the case for Sherrod Brown without throwing around words like "limousine liberal", that have only served to hurt Democrats in the red areas that we desperately need to win, then maybe there's no case to make. I would guarantee Sherrod Brown wouldn't find it beneficial to alienate the voters he needs by perpetuating the notion of "limousine liberals". Let's engage brains before opening mouths, shall we?
