Why haven't we been attacked since 9/11?
Here's why:

1) We invaded AFGHANISTAN and disrupted their operations.

2) We have obviously stepped up our covert operations to guard against Al Queda type attacks - which we can just as easily do within the law.

3) Al Queda has for whatever reason shifted their attacks to not be exclusively against the USA but also against our allies like the UK, Spain and in Bali.

agree/disagree?

1. Disagree with the premise
After 9/11, there were the anthrax attacks. So yes, we were attacked after 9/11, even if it was possibly by our own govt. And don't get me started on the many ways in which our civil liberties and constitutional rights have been attacked, and are still under attack.

3. They shot their wad on 9/11, they are building a new wad.
Besides, we sent them several platoons of close-range targets. You know - get blowed up over there so we dont get blowed up over here.

Of course, the ral reason is: it isn't necessary. Americans have been scared stupid and THAT was the goal of the attacks: to scare Americans into accepting a war-mongering fascist govt.

The Republicans do EXACTLY what Al Queada wants.

because in the last five years B*shco has been busy doing more damage to America than Al Queda could have imagined in their wildest dreams.

7. And why does nobody point out that
five years with no "homeland" attacks isn't much to shout about. After all, America wasn't attacked for eight years between the first WTC bombing in 1993 (nine weeks after Bush Sr. left office) and 9/11/2001 (nine months after Bush Jr. took office).

The right-wing always goes on about the embassy bombings and the USS Cole, but if we're talking overseas attacks on American interests, what about the 2600+ dead US soldiers and 20,000 wounded over the last five years? And as you mention, attacks in the UK, Spain, and south-east Asia? Do they not count?

Good point about overseas attacks
Impossible to guard our interests everywhere. If Clinton is to blame for the Embassies, then bush is to blame for Bali and obviously anything that goes in in Iraq.

31. Isn't that funny
that people who do good tings never get promoted?

The captain of the USS Cole, who saved his ship from sinking after an al-Qa'eda suicide attack by speedboat, has lashed out at senior Pentagon staff blocking his promotion because of allegations that he could have done more to protect the ship.

Commander Kirk Lippold, who now serves behind a desk at the Pentagon, accused the head of the navy, Admiral Mike Mullen, and the navy secretary of "over-riding the judgment" of officers who had recommended his promotion.

13. OBL has publicly stated
that he wants to bankrupt the USA. We're doing that pretty well by ourselvs.
Look at the last incident with the liquid explosives. He crippled the air service in two countrys for almost a week. Just think how much money it cost us.
How much did it cost him to do it? Not one danm cent.
That fucker really is a master mind.

14. ummm...you still believe anything
the monkey neo con mis-administration tells you? I mean, really, I thought that the events of the past 6 years would tell you anything they say or do is the opposite of what happened or is going to happen.

The reason that there hasn't been another terrible disaster like the twin towers because they don't need to do anything, they just say 911 terra terra terra and everyone hides under the bed.

The conundrum as I see it this. Their big claim is that no terra has happened on US soil because of how great the monkey is...now if the October surprise is more terra; well, do people think that they should retreat into the safety of the monkey's or realize that again he has done nothing to protect the "homeland". KKKarl must be up nights trying to decide for the decider what to do.

mention the fact that a new tape has been discovered (taken out of cold storage) blah blah blah and they are ready to blow up another country. The plan just calls for keeping them scared, not attacking them every other week. And on edit: Just show reruns of the 9/11 attacks, it's cheaper.

36. We've been attacked so the premise is wrong
Anthrax was a successful attack.

Beyond that apparently there have been numerous attack attempts that have simply been foiled OR incompetent.

Beyond that we are attacked daily in at least 2 countries to the tune of over 2600 dead soldiers.

And our allies have suffered massive damage in London and Spain as well as other countries that are simply easier to travel to. Americans have died all over the world.

We aren't safer. More Americans AND others are dying.

The only thing we aren't having is massive buildings being toppled which was a freak and extremely lucky (given all our incompetence) event that probably wouldn't work 9 oout of 10 times it was tried again.

37. Why weren't we attacked between 1993 and 2001? That's 8 years.
Maybe because Clinton had things under control, but when Dim Son was inserted by SCOTUS all attention to OBL and terrorism went by the wayside, paving the way for the worst terrorist attack on US soil? After all, it was SUPER IMPORTANT to make sure those 2%ers and corporate robber barons got their massive tax give away.

Just saying.

thanks to bushco's failings and incompetence in Iraq and Afghanistan. Al Queda just keeps chipping away at US on their turf and on their terms; no need for a more complicated and involved attack on the USA homeland. bushco has also alienated MOST of the other Nations in the world. bushco's self destructive behavior could be the terrorist's greatest weapon.
