Dick Cheney on MTP
The new "line" that the admin is putting out that the Shi v Sunni
fighting in Iraq was caused by al Qaeda and the Z-man (Zarqawi).

Now how can a dead man be causing all this crap?

I also read on the "internets" that Condi was spouting this bilge too.

We can not let this "false fact" gain traction. Remember that al Qaeda was
not in Iraq until we invaded and they are less then 5% of the fighters.

Look how the NSA spying on you & me became the "Terrorist Surveillance Act" and how
that line is repeated in the press & by the administration 24/7.

2. Not that inaccurate
al-Qaeda's repeated attacks on the Shia community has caused Shia militias attack the Sunni. Many of the high casualty attacks on the Shia were of al-Quada origin. It was also their stated goal - and they were successful. Its not a "false fact", its true and its another failure of this war.

5. you are right ......
al Qaeda has tried to fan the flames of sectarian violence in Iraq
but "they" were not in Iraq until we invaded & the hatreds go back
for generations ..... long before al Qaeda came into being.

6. Odd how al-Qaeda has gone from the #1 killers of infidels to

the #1 killer of believers. I'm not sure if this is the sort of thing that was its original intent

4. This is the operative statement.

This is the operative statement. The others are inoperative.

-- Ron Ziegler, White House press secretaty, April 17, 1973

The old statement is that there is no civil war in Iraq. Is that one just inoperative now? Are we supposed to forget junta spokesmen ever said it?
