Dana Priest of Washpost Sez: Bin Laden Trail Has Gone STONE COLD.
This on NBC Nightly News.

Convenient, eh? Gee, i wonder why we can't seem to find the dude, with all of our advanced technology...maybe...Bin Laden is good for Republican politics? Worse, Bush did business with his brother, Salem Bin Laden? The Saudis/Bin Ladens bailed Bush out of his failed Harken deal?

Something STINKS.

3. The Post story had lots of bomb shells that made Bush
look bad. The NBC piece had them all the bad parts for Bush cut out. NBC's story highlighted how hard it is to catch Bin Laden (not Bush's fault?) and how Bush put more troops on the case three months ago.

The article in the Post said:

Bush called off most of the troops hunting for Bin Laden five months after 9/11 and sent them to Iraq.

Rumsfeld started turf wars over who would get to pull the trigger on Bin Laden if he's located.

Communications between the intelligence community and the FBI still had problems years after 9/11.

No one person is in the government is in charge of hunting for Bin Laden.

Amazing! The same journalist working for two different media outlets comes out with almost opposite reports.

4. I noticed that!
NBC and Priest said Bush had put MORE troops on the ground now looking for him, but not too long ago I heard they basically called it off? WTF?

Of course Rumsfeld wants the power; he's lusted after it all along. He wrested power from Tenent and forced Bush to basically put CIA under Defense, thus militarizing intelligence.

So WTF is Priest trying to pull?
