Katie Couric explains why we have an EPA

On CBS tonight, Katie Couric explained to former EPA chief Whitman, "Your job (at EPA) is to protect people from the environment."

I see. That darned environment just keeps on polluting us pristine people, filling us with greenhouse gases and trace amounts of mercury, damming our circulatory systems and destroying our wetlands, killing off entire species and putting future generations at risk.

If only more people understood that we need to get rid of this darned environment so we can live healthier, safer lives.

The EPA is just that- the ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY.

They smear their opponents with their own weakness making themselves look like the good guy. So flipping the EPA and it role from protecting the environment from the people to protecting the people makes sense in the republican world.
