CNN is replaying their 9/11 coverage on their "Pipeline" feature
Beginning about 8:20 a.m. on September 11th, this is what I and millions of other people saw.

The first plane hit the WTC at 8:48 a.m.

5. Actually, MSNBC is replaying The Today Show minute by
minute. So I switched. I woke up early (I'm on the West Coast) because on the actual day I was sleeping late and missed the entire horror until well after the actual events.

MSNBC. I've had some network problems on cable internet but otherwise the pipeline coverage is fair.

8. That day is etched pretty vividly in my memory.
It would feel incredibly morbid and weird to watch that.

Usually, I like to relive *pleasurable* moments...

9. I went into shock when the second plane hit
There are some aspects of that day I don't remember. Watching this coverage helps to fill in the gaps.

16. Listening to Jim Miklasweski report live from the Pentagon...
... that he had just heard an explosion, the building shook, and from his window he could see panic and people running... it reminded me so much of how freaked out I was that day. I was watching NBC, and it wasn't until the Pentagon was hit that I think I really grasped what was happening.

12. Some thoughts while watching the first 45 minutes...
The blissful innocence of the couple of reports before the first plane hit... just heartbreaking. A fashion show report, a Wall Street update... just like any other morning.

After the second plane hit, the WABC anchor who CNN was simulcasting simply couldn't comprehend that it might be an actual terrorist attack. He kept trying to somehow rationalize it, as some kind of horrible technical glitch in the navigation systems of both planes.

Just awful... it brought it all back.

14. I am watching
I find it quite interesting, I watched the day's events unfold live in the UK on the BBC. My initial thought is that the BBC was much better coverage from half a world away.
I wish the BBC were doing the same. Its interesting watching it reported from a US perspective and how the day unfolded. Listening to initial witness reports are interesting too.

15. Anyone still watching? It's truly stunning.
I'm amazed at how much Aaron Brown criticized the lack of intelligence that day, and called for serious investigations. Tom Brokaw did the same; MSNBC carried their "as it happened" programming today up until noon real-time.

Sandy Berger was interviewed by Brown, and said that this enemy could be defeated with a colloboration of epic proportions, a mighty worldwide alliance, and that 9/11 would be the turning point, 9/11 would make this alliance emerge.

Should have.

18. Did you hear General Wesley Clark being interviewed by Judy Woodruff?
It was earlier today in the September 11th "Pipeline" rebroadcast.

He said the American people should know that hundreds of people in the U.S. Government had been working behind the scenes on tracking down terrorists and information. General Clark also talked about the efforts made during the Clinton Administration to get these monsters.

It was fascinating... they were all saying essentially the same thing... quite a bit early.

I think Wes must have a crystal ball - or else he's just incredibly, incredibly intelligent.

21. General Clark is back up - being interviewed again by Judy Woodruff
Said he's been reassured by the Pentagon the military's command and control are up and running, and that we've been targeted for years by terrorist groups.

23. Did you hear Aaron Brown after Wes Clark the second time?
He said something to the effect of, "What Wes Clark is saying, about the organization, the planning... it is chilling, absolutely chilling."

17. Interesting: Nic Robertson reports that Mullah Omar has denounced...
... the attacks. Mullah Omar, the spiritual leader of the Taliban, stated that Osama bin Laden could not possibly be responsible for the attacks.

I seriously do not remember that happening.
