I refuse to watch any of the 9/11 orgy on TV today.
Just flipping through the channels to find the weather report, I quickly saw today would be a good day to stay away from TEE VEE.

As if the horrific images of those planes flying into those buildings wasn't enough, the attempt to make everyone "feel like they did on that day" is about enough to make me want to puke.

I keep coming back to one thought: Why don't the democrats NAIL the republicans on this?

Our slogan in 2004, and now in 2006 should be: "9/11 happened on the Republican's watch, and 5 years later Osama Bin Laden is still free."

So that is my thoughts about this 9/11 anniversary, and I see no need to take part in the TEE VEE 9/11 Orgy.

1. I'm with you at the moment. The images upset me then, they
upset me now, and will do so always. I'm almost looking forward to my dentist appointment.

2. Funny how a national day of solemnity
can grow into a national day of pomposity.

Neither makes for TV entertainment.

3. Maybe in 20 years some folks who were too young to remember
Might like to see... but no thanks. I'm still quite painfully aware that my vivid memories of that day remain intact.

This is being done for money and votes. Fuck them all. This could hardly be more disgusting.

4. This I understand.
That is not a moment I wish to relive over and over.
Once was enough.

I do like films like Loose Change, though.

5. I plan on contemplating that great new movie Happy Feet
About those penguins. That movie looks like it will be hilarious.

Being slightly sarcastic.

6. I totally agree with you on that. I still remember the horror and
helplessness I felt on that day and I don't need the TV talking heads to tell me how I should feel about it now. One of my co-workers had turned our office TV on this morning to the all day CNN coverage, but turned it off, thankfully, after I told her that I really don't want to relive the whole event all day long.

7. I'm not interested re-living 9/11
The first time was enough. I have all the memories and visuals I need, thanks.

8. I guess I differ from many of you
I actually stayed home from work today to watch the rebroadcast on CNN. On 9/11 I was in a classroom and couldn't leave to get information. I have this feeling that I need to see it in totality and then I will put it to rest. I don't think it has every been offered before.

At least I hope so. I grew up in the NYC metropolitan area and the towers were a part of my youth. In all honesty, I thought they were very ugly and always said that every time I saw them. I feel kind of guilty about that now, but I guess that's stupid.

Anyway, I'm watching.

9. I'm with you
The only reason my TV is going on today is to watch a DVD. Not "Flight 93" I might add, in stores now for you "patriots".
