Am I correct? This 911 day is much more discussed than years past?

It feels like the coverage is substantially wider and larger than years 1, 2...etc.?
It feels like the MSM is going crazy with it? Tweetie working on Sunday, all cable has stuff planned...etc.
I don't remember seeing this much coverage in the past?

4. base ten number system |
|
We always pay more attention to those anniversaries that end in 5 or 0. Notice the greeting card section is full of special cards for 30th, 40th, etc. birthdays. It's arbitrary but there it is - notice all the hoopla around the year 2000 - which was totally ridiculous. Pick an arbitrary stating date in history and start counting from there in an arbitrary number system sprinkle in some innumeracy and voila: you have overreaction.

6. Yeah, we have are fingers and toes to thank for this system... |
|
Just think would it might be like today if we had developed an unequal number of finger and toes for each extremity! The mind boggles...

8. yes, I would expect it to be |
|
5 year anniversary and all. It doesn't bother me much, kind of interesting to look and reflect on the world 5 years later. It was a sad day, its not just going to go away.

10. I remember the fifth year |
|
of the Oklahoma City bombing was a big deal, too.
I personally feel this one. I've sailed through the others. I think I am trying to finally put it away.

11. I could put it away if this Administration didn't keep harping and |
|
politically exploiting it every single day.
They're gonna let the wound of 9/11 fester for as long as they can.

12. this is the last major anniversary |
|
Public closure, last effort to exploit it, and all that.
I don't mean to be cruel, but candidly: who expects the 10th anniversary to be more than a formality?

15. Oh I expect the 10th to be huge |
|
Unlike previous eras this one likes to wallow IMHO in its tragedies and triumphs. But as I state in a subsequent post I hope we'll be 2 1/2 years in to a very good Democratic administration.

13. The first anniversary was nuts. |
|
Second, third, and fourth were less so. Five years is kind of a symbolic marker as it was with the Oklahoma City Bombings. There was a fairly big deal about that.

By then I hope we'll be 2 1/2 years in to a Democratic administration that will show just how crappy this bunch were in D.C. was and hopefully some investigations will bring to the light of day their crimes and incompetence.
