TPM Cafe: "Vote Republican... or die?"
Edited on Mon Sep-11-06 02:02 PM by longship
From TPM Cafe:

Yep, it's come to this: If you don't vote for the pro-war candidate in your district, you will die. That's literally the message in a new ad that a conservative think tank, The Center For Security Policy, has now released in time for the fifth anniversary of Sept. 11. The ad shows images of the burning Twin Towers and Americans held hostage and concludes by flashing on the screen: "Vote as if your life depends on it. Because it does." While the ad mentions no candidates or parties, it's clearly meant to tell you that you should be very, very afraid of, well, dying should Dems -- OK, unnamed antiwar pols -- win their races. We're trying to determine where the ad's running -- stay tuned.

More here, including Video.

Absolutely disgusting.

2. Maybe they don't know they are going to cheat
Maybe their cheating only works in close races.

Or maybe the cheating isn't like a fucking golden goose that they can get election victories out of whenever they want.

4. Likely cannot cheat on 60-70 races.
Rigging a single race here and there is one thing. But many of the competitive races are in places where there are Dem Secys of State, etc. There's no way that the Repukes can game it this time without being very obvious about it.

That's one reason why they are so afraid, and why they are trying so hard to make the electorate afraid. They still think that fear works. We'll see in November if they are correct.

3. I truly believe that the pukes will take it too far this year.
I sense it. All the signs are there that they will over do the desperation and will piss people off.

6. There are all sorts of indications that this is the case.
Also, did you see the other day that they are rigging their internal public opinion polls?

Also, I think that the national polls are going to be inaccurate this time. Not because that they are rigged, but because they are not going to be able to accurately predict what is going to happen in the voting booth. People are *ultra* pissed-off. We're in territory where we've not been in a very long time (if ever). The standard models are not going to work.

5. let me think...
9/11, Iraq war, Katrina,...

seems like having Republicans in power is pretty bad for one's life expectancy.
