Brokaw made sense...even Scarborough....lots of skepticism of the utterly transparent, empty campaign of infinite fear speech. Whatsup - media trying to handicap the race and decided they may not have the winner afterall??

2. I dunno...it sounded okay until Brokaw said "Bush's efforts 'noble' and |
|
we needed to bring the Islamics into "modernity" (a key RW Talking Point) and the madrasses were spreading hate, etc." I thought of our Christian Fundie Evangelists in their own madrasses of shopping center "churches" spreading hate against Americans ...and couldn't listen to "High Lifer" Brokaw in his silk suit being brought back to shill for GE while Tweety asked him questions about "Shakespeare" made up for him by some low level MSNBC Intern.
It make me puke... I turned it off. Might even jerk out my Time/Warner Cable mid-tier after tonight if this is what I'll have to live with for the next two months.

4. CBS Bob Schieffer: if it's so dire why did they tell everyone to carry on |
|
This echos Ted Koppel's remarks on Charlie Rose last week that if it's so important why is there no sacrifice such as ending the tax cuts.
Didn't watch the speech, but these older observers of politicians know what they're talking about.

6. Tweety really ripped into Bush earlkier today |
|
During the day Tweetster was being interviewed and he let loose with a tirade about Iraq.
He said Bush has undercut any effort to combat terrorism and win the battle of ideas by invading Iraq.
"People in the Middle East are seeing us killing Muslims over there every day and they don't like it."

8. Not to worry - he'll twirl a quick 180 by tomorrow PM |
|
A quick snap of the leash is usually enough for Tweety and his $15 million Nantucket estate.
