Why did the GAO do this study

About one-third on the nations adult homeless population are veterans,according to the VA.
many of these veterans suffer from PTSD and other mental problems. Under Dubba watch the numbers of homeless in the Country have doubled. On any given night about 194,000 homeless veterans are looking for places to sleep.

With Bush's 2007 and 2008 budget our homeless will grow at a alaming rate. Outsourcing,program cuts,and veterans budget cuts will be the main cause. As of right now we in the field have found 2500 veterans and their families from our current war zones on the street. Today a letter to the tribune called the homeless dirty little people with no right to ask for money.
