Five years having passed since the tragedy of September 11, the whole country remembers where we were, the images we saw on television, and the pain we felt in our hearts.

Together as a nation we mourned with those who lost loved ones and for those who gave their lives that day to save others.

We forgot our differences, uniting behind a common purpose seeking justice.

As I look back on that day, I remember the promise we showed as a nation, and the strength we exhibited when joining together.

Tremendous challenges confront us today. We would do well to remember the collective faith and spirit that made our country so strong those difficult days five years ago.

1. "We would do well to remember collective faith and spirit"
Unfortunately, we cannot "come together" with those who want nothing more than to obliterate us.

No, *not* the "terraists" -- the RW.

Those who have tried that "collective spirit" the last 5 years have been quite bloodied for their attempts.

I so much appreciate Mr. Conyers, but can't agree on this point unless/until the RW start treating us as human beings again.

All else is martyrdom.

2. The quote:
They then tell us to not worry about people like OBL, but instead refocus our attentions, fears, worries and pain on other countries and leaders that have done us no harm. Only to trot out their big boogie man they keep safely hidden away and uncaptured, at political moments of opportunity. Pure manipulation. .... is right on point.

Amen, JC.
