Anbar province lost and all our troops lost in the defense.

3. We need to stop calling it a "war" (Republican terminology) and
call it what it actually is, a fiasco.

5. Or a lame occupation. To me, fiasco seems too frivilous.
But I'm anxious to read that book!

4. According to news, we've now lost Anbar province
50,000 square miles now controlled by Al Qaeda with no hopes of our regaining control. Hundreds of our troops have died there.
Way to go Bush. As Tony Snow said, our dead are "just numbers", right?

8. Unbelievable numerology....
Edited on Tue Sep-12-06 01:39 AM by Wells
By some accounts, the number of deaths on Sept 11th, 2001 is 2662 or around there. There are other death toll numbers; the propaganda made-for-TV 'Path to 9/11' put the number at 2973.

Still, if the 2662 is an official number written down on some file somewhere, the death toll in Iraq and Afghanistan reached that very number today on Sept 11th, five years later.

The prezadint's speech-thing today has to be among his TOP 5 worst. Though other speeches were as inappropriately politicized, this one seemed particularly heartless. It met his standard for poor wording, baldfaced lies, intellectual disconnect, inability to empathize, etc. I was able to bear 15 of its 17 minutes before I just couldn't listen even critically.
