San Diego's ABC ran football instead of Path to 9/11 part 2????

My sister just told me that. They are going to air it, but on a Saturday night.

Does anyone know why? Did she mistake the channel? Did any other locale do this?

So it's that simple: They have a contract for Monday Night Football? Then why not air Part 2 on Tuesday?

3. Even though ESPN was showing the game,

the local station got the game as well, since the San Diego Chargers were playing.
And nope, your sis didn't get the channel wrong. I've been checking the listings to see if part two was going to be shown later in the week, but only did a search through Friday. I'll have to check on Saturday now.

As for other locals, Oakland/San Francisco would be involved, since they played the Raiders. But the game could have been blacked out up there, depending on their local football rules.

Edited to add: OK, just checked. Part two will be shown Saturday at 9pm. Good. People don't watch TV on Saturday night. They go out. Bad move on ABC's part. Hehehe.

Edited again to add: And they CAN'T show part two on Tuesday. That's when ABC's all important show, "Dancing with the Stars" previews (with Jerry Springer! LOL.) They don't want to mess with "Dancing."

4. Yes - that is correct

In Pittsburgh when the Steelers are on ESPN the ABC affiliate runs the game with the ESPN feed. I believe it is a rule from the NFL. Any soldout game for the home team and always for the visiting team has to be televised. Since not all people have cable I believe it also has to be broadcast on an over the airwaves local station.

on edit - and if the local ABC affiliate has the contract to air the chargers games that's gonna pre-empt anything else or they're at danger of severe finsncial penalties and losing the lucrative chargers contract to another station.

What would be really interesting would be to see the San Diego ratings vs other markets that aired the 911 thing.
