2. Pretty dog. It's a such a shame.

I have a feeling I'm probably right about this; that it's a case of an asshole with pitbull hysteria. It seems obvious from the witnesses that the dog was harmless. Hell, he was probably just running towards the cop to play.

I hope this cop gets seriously investigated for this. Not only is it wrong to shoot a dog in that case, but he endangered the lives of those around him. What a sick fuck.

3. Nothing will happen to the cop.

I had a pit bull that was shot by a cop because he saw my dog catch and kill a cat (Unfortunately, my dog hated cats). The cop shot my dog with a .45. Luckily, Easy (my dog) was a tough guy and he survived it. I went to the police chief and complained and there was nothing I could do about it.

I am so emotionally drained from hearing stories like this. Kids. Animals. It's bad enough what we do to each other as adults, why do we have to torment and torture and destroy "the least of us" too?

5. A few years back, some cops broke into a back yard

(in Corona, I think)..

They were responding to a disturbance call.. The two dogs in the yard freaked out (naturally) and the cops shot both of them,,

the kicker?

they had the wrong yard..

The people sued and did get a small "compensation" and an apology, but these were two OLD dogs who were just hanging out in THEIR yard..not bothering anyone..
