Sorry, my first attempt was a mess.

I am a NYer who was in midtown on 9/11 with a straight view to the WTC down 7th Ave. Thankfully no one in my personal circle was lost, but parents of friends and neighbors were killed. Besides that, NY is my home. There are at least 2 posts here that are so bombastic I can't believe would be said at a left of center message board.

First the 9/11 lights are Nazi imagery. Then the poster writes "What have we become? Well not fucking Nazi's. NY'ers like those lights. They are only up for 1 night a year now. Then there's this jewel. It says that Rudolph Guiliani and his wife are feeling some of the ills of the other workers at the WTC. There's plenty of no sympathy and go f*** yourself posts. 1. Why the new threads?

If I opened a new thread every time I saw something idiotic or offensive here, I'd be authoring 30% of the threads.

Reply to the offensive posts. What do you expect to accomplish by opening a new thread?
