Keith needs to watch out for Rovian dirty tricks.
By now the WH Thuglicans probably know MSNBC is not going to fire Keith, no matter how much pressure is exerted. I believe Keith is just too popular, too big a money maker, and just too damn good for them to be able to let him go for no reason, except an obvious WH squeeze, without dire consequences. They would be ABC'd and I doubt they want that. So all the criminals have left is to play the dirty trick hand.

(e.g.) Imagine this scenario. Keith gets mailed a tape transcript (from a supposedly disgruntled and anonymous, OF COURSE!, white house employee), containing a terribly personally and/or politically incriminating conversation between bush and (insert name).

This is just one scenario. Karl's got a million I'm sure. Point being that these swarmy bastards have only one card left to play, and it's the one they're best at: LYING AND CHEATING AND SETTING GOOD PEOPLE UP.

I think Keith is too smart to fall for it, and there have been too many recent examples of people being victimized by these tactics, for it to work, but I sure hope he is watching his back anyway. They WILL try to take him down.

God bless you Keith! Stay well and keep speaking out. You are a true American hero!!

2. I could be wrong. But I don't think they will have the nerve to fire him.
He's the major audience hook.

5. My guess is Keith is ready for whatever Rove slings at him.
Worst case - MSNBC fires him, but who knows where that will lead? It could result in a new news network. I hear Mike Malloy is available.

7. Blackmail only works...
...if you give in to it. If he gave it air time, it would go away. Although I think Keith is not the type to air that sort of thing...Away from his Bill-O games, he is serious about his ethics.
Olbermann for President!

9. Heavens no! Too easy to isolate the man in the Oval Office from truth
And that is not a position a brave man with a microphone should be in.

By the way, has CBS held a wake for Katie yet?

10. I think Keith could handle it.
Seems Americans love to put celebrities in office. He definitely should consider a run.

11. I'm not sure if you saw this, but...
before Countdown last night, MSNBC actually aired ads for Countdown FEATURING the special comment.

He's actually getting support there. Now, the question is why?

at the top of the prime demo, but that's not saying much.

It may have more to do with an acknowledgement by the powers at GE/NBC that there may be a change in the wind and they may want to be prepared for it. That would be a simplified business outlook. However, something I noted about the timing of "The Reagans" miniseries and the change in television station ownership limits may show the media's willingness to try to work the refs. P2911 seems to be another effort in that direction, but GE/NBC may be covering all angles here with Mr. Olbermann.
