GOP Senator: Al Qaeda, Iraqi Insurgents Are "Same Group Of Killers"
Speaking on Friday, Sen. Kit Bond (R-MO) wrongly said that those who carried out the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and those who we are fighting in Iraq are the "same group of killers."

But Americans should know that's not true, no matter how many times Republicans trot out the argument.

Click here to read a breakdown of what Bond said, and why it's dead wrong.

1. KIt Bond is evil.
He manages to keep a fairly low profile, but he is as bad as it gets, in the Senate. He is basically an older Santorum.:puke:

5. it's just an easy thing to say
it sounds good, pleasing to the person who isn't paying real close attention.

it's harder to fact-check something like this over the television airwaves. unless jon stewart makes fun of it, it disappears -- but the "message" sticks in people's heads.
