3. Haven't you heard?
There's no such thing as Agent Orange disease either. Forget the fact that my neighbor, who was a nurse in Vietnam, is the last remaining survivor of her friends in an area where they sprayed that shit all over. She has had cancer off and on as well. But it's all a bunch of bunk.

10. I have a good friend who has GWS...
...and has been battling the VA for the last 10 years. Their last offer? A twice-monthly meditation class.

The man wakes up screaming from nightmares, has chronic pain, migranes, etc...A twice-montly meditation class.

11. About Iraq War Syndrome
There have been reports of mysterious blood clots emerging from some Iraq War Veterans, but so far I haven't heard of too many of them and they seemed to occur mostly from the vets returning from the early days of the invasion.

Gulf War Syndrome is believed by many to have been caused either by faulty vaccines given to troops to protect against chemical attack, depleted uranium from tank shells and the guns of A-10 planes, or prolonged exposure to all of the smoke from the oil wells the Saddam's army lit up while they retreated. Or it may be combination of two or all of them. No one really knows for sure because, well, it doesn't exist officially. Those lazy soldiers are just mekkin' it all up.

This war has not seen the massive tank battles that the first gulf war did, so the use of depleted uranium has not been anywhere near as extensive. There have been no massive oil fires, and I don't know about the status of vaccines they are forcing troops to take. I know they were doing it in the initial days of the invasion (when the first reports of blood clots emerged) but I don't know if they're still doing that. It would seem silly given that it turned out Saddam didn't have any chemical weapons at all.

So far, it seems that reports of mysterious ailments from this war have been relatively light. That's the good news. But I'm not an expert and you never know. Sometimes these things can take years to develop. All we can do is cross our fingers and hope for the best.

14. Professor Garth Nicholson
has also identified mycoplasma infection in the vets...whether it is an opportunistic infection, or was a biological warfare agent, is still unknown.

living rooms and join us in the streets in opposition to bush's war and his hatred for the soldiers.

16. Typical VA, absolutely disgusting.
When the .gov wants to engage in violence, they'll spare no expense in sending our men & women into battle with the latest in high tech killing machines to destroy the enemy.

Then when those same men and women come home hurt and sick from the dangers and poisons of the battlefield, they go out of their way to abandon them.

And thus my rage intensifies...

Just ONCE I'd like to hear a reporter shove this kind of thing into BushCo's face when they start spouting off about "supporting the troops" and lauding their sacrifices.

Do you believe the results of a federally funded study that says Gulf War Syndrome doesn't exist? * 11351 responses
No way. It's a cover-up so the government doesn't have to pay benefits.
73%
Yes. It's a well-researched study that did establish links to other problems such as Lou Gehrig's disease.
16%
I don't know. It's a complex issue.
