Sen. Feingold faults Bush's war language
By FREDERIC J. FROMMER, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold (news, bio, voting record) called on President Bush to refrain from using the phrase "Islamic fascists," saying it was offensive to Muslims and has nothing to do with terrorists fighting the United States.

"We must avoid using misleading and offensive terms that link Islam with those who subvert this great religion or who distort its teachings to justify terrorist activities," Feingold said Tuesday in a speech to the Arab American Institute on Capitol Hill.

The Wisconsin senator, a potential 2008 presidential candidate, said the label "Islamic fascists" makes no sense and doesn't help the U.S. effort to combat terrorism.

"Fascist ideology doesn't have anything to do with the way global terrorist networks think or operate, and it doesn't have anything to do with the overwhelming majority of Muslims around the world who practice the peaceful teachings of Islam," Feingold said.

10. Why shouldn't we?
Since he has diluted the meaning of the word fascist to mean any religious extremist willing to use violence to advance their agenda...he certainly fits the bill.

Bush the Christofascist...

9. By using the term fascist...
...Bush is managing to piss off a LOT of moderate Jewish associates of mine. It's a COMPLETE misuse of the term, and a misguided attempt at misappropriating the horror that was Hitler in an attempt to advance his own agenda. Fascism is a form of military totalitarianism supported by corporations and bolstered by religious terminology and the manipulation of language. Me thinketh Bush doth protesteth too muchest.

11. He Should Be Pissing Off Lots of People
Why doesn't it bother everyone that the president is a moron--he has no clue what fascism is.

12. And what does BushCo, Inc. always do when guilty of something?
Project Bush's or BushCo's own guilt on their enemy / opponent. In this case, the term 'fascist' is the guilt projection.

Wouldn't surprise me as the election got closer, that he started stating that Democrat Fascism will destroy America if the people don't vote republican.
