Air Force General: Try out new weapons on US crowds...
... Can you believe this shit?

http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/09/12/usaf.weapons.ap/index.html

"If we're not willing to use it here against our fellow citizens, then we should not be willing to use it in a wartime situation," said Wynne.

I.e.: American citizens should be treated like a wartime enemy. They actually WANT to attack Americans.

Civilian control of the military takes another hit.

2. Fabulous! Yet another use for the underclass BushCo is busily creating.
Government agitators can foment a bit of insurrection, get people to take to the streets, then taser, gluegun, net, microwave, rubber bullet, beanbag, ultrasound and vomit-gas them into submission. That'll save the 'non-lethal' weapon manufacturers a fortune on trying to find paid volunteers to help with R&D.

19. I said essentially the same thing awhile back in my journal....
... and some of the geniuses around here went apeshit on me for "attacking the troops" or some stupid shit like that...

And our own fucking military wants to use its weapons against the very people it's supposed to protect.

Fucking jackasses.

6. There's another way to read that but dunno if it was meant that way.
I see this is the non-lethal weapon debate again. A benign person would mean to say, "If this would be illegal and inhumane to use on US citizens because it's so unsafe that would be unconscionable, we should not be willing to use it against foreign civilians in a wartime situation."

Now if that's not what he meant then he's just a sadist and no more needs to be said about it...

12. That's what I thought when I went to read it. But no.
Humane concerns are not on his mind. Public relations is his concern.

Protest and be permanently damaged. Protest and be treated like THE ENEMY. Use your constitutional rights and we will physically destroy you and, honey, there ain't never gonna be national health care in the United States.

14. He seems to think using them without causing mass injuries is good PR
and hey, if this was Star Trek and we had weapons on Stun settings, maybe it would be good PR.

Now if you have no confidence that will be the actual outcome - I myself completely lack such confidence - this is precisely why politicians reading these comments should get scared and should be calling the White House right this minute.

16. Oh, goodie! Another way to exploit a large prison population.
Whatever happened to honor? Whatever happened to our humanity? We've become an nation of outlaws and an outlaw nation. Why aren't we marching on Washington with buckets of hot tar, bags of feathers, and trucks filled with splinter-ridden rails?? What would it take to have a National Strike?

23. When I saw thread about using microwaves on US citizens, I knew: AF
Air Force seems to harbor some pretty strange brass. And fundies have had WAY too much sway at the academy.

Only worry I have about the junta starting a war with Iran is the Air Force. Other branches know we can't pull it off with boots on the ground; not enough boots and the ones currently in use are very tired. But the Air Force, with the crowd of zealots they have in charge could sure as hell start a war from 45,000 feet then leave it to the ground troops to figure what comes next.

Too many crazies in AF brass
