The man who claims to be Jesus (from FL, of course)
http://cbs4.com/topstories/local_story_254163721.html

" His name is Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda; his followers call him everything from apostle to Dad, or simply Jesus Christ Man. De Jesus Miranda himself believes he’s the living incarnation of “Jesus Christ Man,” “the second coming of Christ.”

A follower of his believes “he is God, he is God.” She also lavishes him with money and gifts."

Read the piece, it is fascinating and quite spooky. What kind of Rolex would Jesus wear?

I've gotta get out of Florida.

2. I love Florida
Edited on Tue Sep-12-06 08:24 PM by Synnical
Love the heat and the Blue County where I live. But am seriously considering a job offer in Mexico, all the same. Not so fond of my country right now.

Edit: add missed word

4. Florida? Does anything in the link below sound familiar?
Maybe I should have said that all those experiences were generated from a Florida County?

6. Thanks for posting. I don't know whether
to laugh or worry. That part about how his followers think other religions should be destroyed is not funny at all. It saddens me that some people still fall for this type of religious hucksterism in this day and age.

8. Well that was painless...
I don't see a whole of clothes on the ground and my sinner ass isn't being turned into a Happy Meal for Satan's kids, so I guess Jesus is a class act.

His Kingdom doesn't have the word Magic in front of it, does it?

9. Watch the video!!! F-in scary stuff
There is no sin as long as you go to his church. Killing, rape, whatever, it doesn't matter.

I smell a Jonestown.

Watch the video, for Jesus sake.

10. Seriously, what the hell is going on in Florida??
EVERY time I read a news story about some bizarre personal behavior, insane assertion, crazy crime or other such nonsense, it is in FLORIDA.

I have a theory that all of the sunscreen that washes off of everyone into the water is harmful. Anyone else got a theory?

11. OK, this will freak you out
The 44 caliber killer is a hero to a group of whacked out fundagelics.

The way the man once called Son of Sam sees it, Satan and Jesus have long been fighting for his soul. Thirty years ago, when he killed six and terrorized the city, the Devil was winning. But now Berkowitz says that Jesus has the upper hand. And a growing flock of renegade Christians believe he’s an apostle of the Lord.

I have to admit, though, that whole "Catholic City" that the Dominoe's Pizza guy is building in Florida would be enough to make me question the sanity of sticking around...
