as a school committee member who contacted SB to raise objections prior to p2911, i told them i'd do my best to get them out of our schools if they went through with this.

If we try we can get it shown in 100K schools which is the number of schools that Scholastic sent packets to about Path to 911 (100K on first report anyway, later was revised to 25K)

24. The TRUTH is ALWAYS appropriate-if the right wing can get their lies into

our schools (not that they haven't been doing so since textbooks were first written) then at least we should be able to counter the lies in Path to 9/11.

The film is made up of many news clips and interviews with the Jersey Girls, most of which were already seen on public television, so I see no problem with high school kids seeing the film.


Isn't the film being shown anywhere in SF? or are you no longer in the states? (SF native here)

I just was trying to catch up on reading, and thank you for posting this. I had no idea. It is truly outrageous. It's like we take one step forward and two steps backwards much of the time. Looks as if it's going to be a long, hard fight the next couple years.

DUers don't listen, unless you have a truly amazing, catchy sub-line. If you read Scholastic's original press release about their "pulling out" of the P2911 deal, you'll see it doesn't say any such thing. DU just got all excited and started jumping up and down cheering, without knowing that we were cheering for a well-crafted press release. Scholastic was scum then, and is scum today.
