I thought it Might be a good idea for a ACTIVIST GROUP here on the DU with our 100,000 member team to persuade folks here, and empower Many Blogs out there, get some LockStepping going ON OUR SIDE.

We can have folks here scour the Web and Media, Press, Cable, whoever tries to pull a fast one and USE the LIEFEST created by "The Path to 911" to their advantage and make spurious claims that can be easily DEBUNKED with Absolute TRUTH.

Someone here can Compile a series of articles or FACTS, links and Video links that DESTROY and Vaporize LIES - one which we can pick and choose and write personalized responses from so we aren't accused of "astroturfing" on top of it.

A "FACT ATTACK RESPONSE TEAM" of sorts to demolish LIES, quickly and in great Numbers.

We found at Takebackthemedia.com that one day when CNN published a Hans Blix Report that they'd left out 700 words re: The Weapons of Mass Destruction, OUR sales of the same to Iraq (say by Halliburton or Reagan/Bush Senior), and we sent out the word of this Abomination and sucking up to the Bush admin.

CNN REPLACED those words that SAME AFTERNOON, so we've Proved it can work, and FAST.

I believe that when President Clinton was running that he had such a force, and that it worked like a Charm. And for ANY subject.

Let's place our quibbling aside, stick with FACTS, and LockStep Like the Republicans.

It makes the MSM look Ridiculous and they KNOW IT, they have no choice but to retract or FIX the offending material. Remember, THEY don't have a 100,000 "fact checkers" who have the passion and sense of community to do this, THEY can't AFFORD it.

But WE can, and we should do this.

Anyone Game? Anyone want to volunteer? Do the Admins want to do such a thing, help groom this? Can we at LEAST do this to assist the Democrats Running for this year's elections?

How to tie them together is the organizational issue, making good use of what we already have. Creating yet another forum/group seems to be the wrong direction, IMVHO.

Pardon the cyncism here, but this old-timer's seen this game show one too many times. Trying to keep people's attention around here, yet trying to organize them in some concerted effort is like herding cats. Be it egos or short-sightedness or whatever, every time something of this sort pops up, there's tons of indignation and "let's do something"...and then when it comes to brass tacks, people have other priorities or want it just one way and not another or they don't like this person or want to work with that one...yada yada.

I'd love to one day see a real effort in coordinating and networking the vast talents and potentials here, but I don't see it happening any time soon.

A lot of times visuals are more effective than just another plea dumped in laps along with Redford trying to save the caribou (which I take personally, as I'm writing a book about that), but no Redford pleas to stop Mountain Top Removal where they are blowing the TOPS off the Appalachians, with explosions that are some of the largest since Hiroshima, only with chemical charges - which cause whole towns to drown,kill kids in their beds - a three year old was CRUSHED in bed by a three ton boulder FLUNG by explosions, etc.. they FILL IN the valleys with pollution and rubble/tires and got knows what else - the holding pools contains LETHAL chemicals LEACHING into the water table, all for COAL Pushed by the Cheney Energy CLUB..

Everyone wants HELP and send out copious emails, but GRAPHICS are Sticky and Viral - good idea..

But at this point we DO NEED to ATTACK the Propaganda created for USE by HERR MAUS/DISNEY and set the facts Straight EVERYTIME they try to Catapault their agenda using this film as talking Points..

We need THOUSANDS of letters/calls/emails/TV Appearances EVERY TIME they attempt to Distort the TRUTH.. BAM BAM BAM... and we can do it..

If someone on the DU were to create a page with easy mailing on one click, with a menu on the side that shows the PROPAGANDA and the CORRECTION or TRUTH we can choose to insert in the field we write in, then one click and it's OFF TO THE Purveryor of FILTH.

Makes it easier to SLAM them with a Multitude, not on the order of ASTROTURFING, as we Choose what we say, it's personalized, but the FACTS can be added from the LIST of Truth..

'FACT: "BERGER DID NOT sit on his backside and ALLOW Bin Laden to Escape, it was ordered by TENENT, who we all know of course was in CAHOOTS with BUSH on IRAQ, the "Slam Dunk" MAN.'

etc -- a Java page FOR DU'Rs to use at will when they see a MEDIA LIE we can ALL be ALERTED, then use the Java page to FILL EMAIL BOXES to OVERFLOWING!!!

If the Admins so desire, we can create a Java page for that, and if the Admins allow it and point to it then we can BLANKET the Media and individuals at will..
