Surely not. Surely not in America where a person can say anything they want, where a person can protest the government and raise hell and rail against the darkness. Surely they would never fire upon us protesters with conventional or super secret bizarre Dr. Evil nuke ro waves, surely it would never come to that?

Dissent is patriotic, and sometimes its a patriotic duty, and if we were to gather around OUR white house and raise hell, surely, surely surely, they could not fire upon their own moms and dads, brothers and sisters, grandmas and grandpas, surely, surely, surely not.:sarcasm:

5. And did you ever hear of many, many labor struggles?
Picket lines were fired upon not just by company goons but also by police, national guard, and army.

18. Bisbee, AZ WWI- train cars full of army toops shoot into miners groups
Morenci, AZ in the 80's - state troopers and miners do a sort of re-enactment.

When workers/citizens get insistent about actually exercising their rights, the corporate leaders and their puppets in government fire at will.

Those who ignore history usually end up having it thrust upon them.

15. Nah, they'll just get their Cossacks to ride into the crowd, brandishing
their swords, whereupon they'll lop off some heads, and the Republicans will hail this as a great victory for freedom. Depressingly, we haven't come all that far since czar Nicholas II did that back in 1905.

Whatever happened to Nicholas II, anyway?
