Look what happened in Maryland guys. Disgusting!
This is happening today:

Elections in MD (Diebold touchscreens and Diebold voter rolls) today are a
train wreck including polls opening late, battery problems, running out of
backup paper ballots, missing voter cards, voters told that they have
already voted, ballots missing entire candidate sections, etc.

I'm sure everything will be all fixed by November.

Geeeeee, I guess we should have warned the Dems about the problems, eh? We're so bad for letting this slip. We should have our hands slapped for being so derelict in our duties.

Why mail to Bernie Sanders - I have heard him down play election fraud on Thom Hartmann's show - and it has been a big disappointment to me -

I was an idiot didn't know what I was talking about and that Bernie who is SO GOOD on so many issues was a champion for this issue - but I guess you just proved that my feeling about him and this issue was justified - and SUCH A DISSAPOINTMENT....I have to confess it actually stopped me from sending money to him....

Your post doesn't make any sense at all... and don't put words into my mouth. If you feel like an idiot and don't want to support Bernie Sanders because of my single post, then maybe you are right afterall.

PS... I happen to like the guy, just not on this issue... is that ok with you?

30. No no you have misunderstood me
Edited on Wed Sep-13-06 04:57 PM by never_get_over_it
let me try to reword it so it makes sense - what I meant is I believe your answer to my qestion confirmed that Bernie has been dismissive of the election fraud issue - which I have heard him be a few times on Thom Hartmann

what I said in the next post is that I wish you could have told me I was an idiot and totally wrong and that Bernie was totally on board with the issue of election fraud because then I wouldn't have to be disappointed in Bernie - because I DO ACTUALLY LIKE BERNIE A TON - and I am very disappointed with him and many others on this particular issue because I really think we need these politicians help with this issue.

BTW I totally support Bernie's run - I just decided to send the money I would have sent him to someone else instead - I'm not even in his state.

I'm pretty sure we're on the same page here and I apologize that my other post didn't make sense...

31. I agree. I don't think anyone would mind a few hours' delay.
Well, except for the chattering idiots in the television news business, but at this point the entire lot of them (except for Keith Olbermann) could fall into a pit and I wouldn't even notice.

Spending a day counting the votes won't cause the world to end, no matter what the idiot Republicans say, and it would definitely be a thousand times as accurate as Diebold and its many equally useless imitators.

The guv sent a bill to the state house.

The brain damaged state senate rejected it.

8. Disgusting, maybe, but it's definitely a wakeup call.
In an ironic way, this is good news, because it adds more weight to the evidence to support the claims of election fraud in Ohio and elsewhere in the election of 2004. After all, haven't they had two years to fix whatever problems they said didn't exist in the first place?

Edited on Wed Sep-13-06 02:49 PM by undergroundpanther
I was scrambling for a ride. Anyways I stayed tuned to the local reports,as I tried calling everyone I could, and sure enough the news reported problems with the machines. At about 5 pm I realized my vote wouldn't matter anyway.I gave up trying to get a ride . Sat on my couch and cried.

And as I did that it I realized again, YES we are now a dictatorship. One that is currently pretending it isn't by playing up the 'technical errors' and 'incompetence' bullshit games to confuse and thereby tame the public rage and buy time.. FOR WHAT? Waiting until the time is right to get away with murdering more citizens and torture?
Are they waiting until the political climate is safe enough for the right to dominate and act out the sickening psychopath fantasies it is addicted to..

I wish someday soon,I say soon because time is short..the right wing must be AMPUTATED it's cancerous,The Elephant must DIE. The red turn blue, the red stripes taken OUT of the flag,Republicanism it is evil. It must be stopped .I wish I had an army with me,,an army to detect, disarm and destroy every bully, every right winger, chicken hawk asshole, corporate thug, evangelical pig, control freak ,abuser, freeper shithead..on sight. And toss them into a mass grave and bury them and their sickness with them . For A future without dominator's and abusers.

Conservatism is republicanism is EVIL. This sick belief system has it's root agenda in protecting the idea of masters ruling over slaves(be they chattel or wage does not matter). The right wing is about excusing an ARISTOCRACY an elitist cabal of shit heads dominating the woreld..Leo Strauss is worse than Machiavelli and he was a piece of shit who wrote words that stink of shit. So Shit heads are who love ruing a Kakistocracy ..THey are who LOVE reading writers like Leo Strauss and Machiavelli Ayn Rand and Hitler because they are morally inferior psychopaths underneath their masks of "sanity".

Republicans are the party of bullies, greed, lies, manipulation, corruption.abuse of poweer,torture,sadism,domination...evil.

Republican/conservatism protects and rationalizes authoritarianism and their enablers. It is for HIERARCHY haves and have nothings,Research it's evil roots and see it's pernicious core.. ALL right wing political ideologies are afflicted with immoral insanity. The right is the enemy of decency, fairness, hope, sustainability, the commons, the social safety net, humanity, freedom, peace and all that is good on this miserable fucking planet..

I am so mad.And despairing.
I HATE the right I hope they will all be destroyed someday, their microwave weapons turned upon themselves, their gulags tear each other apart, and their evangelical con men kill themselves,

May all right wing ideologies like the sick shit wrote by the likes of Leo strauss be seen as poison to society and hurtful to the human mind. May the propaganda of the right be never again considered viable by ANYONE,may it be seen as sick and dangerous, the incoherent ego trip babbling and writings of psychopaths addicted to fantasies of full spectrum dominance and nothing more..May the "philosophers" of the right wing be laughingstocks and their writings treated as the idealogical toxic trash talk it is.

I curse the right wing and it's enablers forever. May Sekhmet come forth in fire and wade in freeper blood and laugh. And May Sekhmet never stop her destruction of the psychopath, sadistic, control freak, dominator, bully, authoritarian and narcissistic scumbags from this world.I say this in the name of Maat Make it SO!May The Bush Administration be eaten by Ammit and their names defiled forever.

I am so pissed disgusted and sad,I dunno what to do anymore. Can I ask for a hug?.

22. We knew this was going to happen for years now. It should not
be a surprise to anyone. If people are really sick and tired like the polls show then they should be showing up to vote in mass droves. We only have ourselves to blame. It's a bitter pill to swallow but it's true. I talk to my neighbors and family all the time and everyone besides myself and 1 cousin is completely apathetic - even with everything that's gone on.

Ended up not voting because she had to work late. She thinks all this talk of electronic voting is an exaggeration and that I would "go back to the dark ages." Multiply that by a thousand and that is the silent death of participatory democracy right there. Like when people say "oh, I wouldn't consider taking a bus, it's always late. I've got a car. Who cares if the traffic is bad, I live in a nice neighborhood."

"Starve the beast" applied to election turnout.

...and do they have a back-up paper trail? Alaska is now required to have one touch-screen machine in each voting precinct, but using it is optional. Ours supposedly have paper backups, as well.
