Murtha introduces resolution seeking Rumsfeld's resignation
Congressman introduces resolution seeking Rumsfeld's resignation

Deutsche Presse Agentur
Published: Wednesday September 13, 2006

Washington- A key Democrat in the US House of Representatives introduced a resolution on Wednesday demanding Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld resign over the conflict in Iraq. John Murtha, the ranking Democrat on the House panel for defence spending, accused Rumsfeld of misleading Americans about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, failing to properly develop post-war strategies for stabilizing the country and sending US troops into battle without proper equipment.

"For the good of the country, the United States of America must restore credibility both at home and abroad and that the first step" is "immediately effecting the resignation of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld," the proposed resolution says.

Rumsfeld has come under increasing pressure to step down as opposition Democrats hope to capitalize on weak public support for the conflict in Iraq in order to regain control of the House and Senate in November 7 congressional elections.

4. I hope Dean, Pelosi,
Reid, Gore, Kerry, Teddy Kennedy, both Clintons and every other Democrat with some "name" power stands with Murtha on this.

5. Don't worry about Dean. He was on the cutting edge of truth long ago
I worry more about the Kerrys, Clintons etc. who have this nasty habit of tepidly sticking a toe in the political waters before they foment their fire and brimstone speeches.

6. Why didn't Murtha mention that Rumsfailed is a War Criminal?
I mean, damnit Rumsfailed admitted to violating the Geneva Convention.

I heard Rumsfailed say so on TV.

Rumsfeld Shouldn't be Fired, He Should be Indicted
by Matthew Rothschild

“Secretary Rumsfeld has publicly admitted that . . . he ordered an Iraqi national held in Camp Cropper, a high security detention center in Iraq, to be kept off the prison’s rolls and not presented to the International Committee of the Red Cross,” the report noted. The Geneva Conventions require countries to grant the Red Cross access to all detainees. “

Recently it has been found out that even more detainees were "ghost detainees". The fact that Rumsfeld has not been charged speaks volumes. If Congress wishes to garner any respect they should move forward with Impeachment Declaration of Rumsfeld.
