Poll question: What are your expectations if the Dems are successful in November?
I would very much like to see Chimpy impeached and punished for his doings. The Reupkes were willing to do it but I don't know about the Dems...

The Dems have to unite under Iraqi troop withdrawal. I think they will eventually.

So ordinarily I would be extremely optimistic but I've been burned in the past so I'm somewhat optimistic now.

1. All I can say is the Dem's have about 16 months to make a difference
before the 08 election cycle kicks in high gear.

If they are to win in 08, they had better kick ass if they gain control of Congress this year.

2. with all the republicans calling for the Dems to win in 2006
I'm wondering if we might be better off if we lose. That way, going into 2008, they can't blame us for not cleaning up the mess they made.

Wait! They're gonna do that anyway.

Nevermind. We just can't win with this bunch. Maybe we do really need to become just as evil as they are.

7. all kidding aside,
I think there is a lot of merit in your thoughts there.

I think whomever holds the house will most likely be the losing party in the big one in 08.

18. oh, I'm not kidding, with Newt calling for WWIII and Bush's numbers going
up...I'm ready to get down right nasty. And not in the good way. If you know what I mean.

Trust me. I can do it. Today, I'm sick of playing "fair" and "nice".

Bush and his gang treat us like we are idiots. Bring on the negative ads....against them. Let's hire some rat fu*kers. Go for the throat.

3. I'm hoping for impeachment
I'd like to see bush, cheney, rummy, and rice turned over to be tried for war crimes too, but I won't hold my breath.

I'm between that and optimistic myself. :D

4. If this Criminal Administration allows this Fall's election to run
as scheduled, I believe in my heart and soul that the Democrats will win back The House for sure ... and just perhaps The Senate.

The American People are disgusted despite being insulted and ordered by the whorish M$M how to vote.

It just may be a landslide for The Democratic Party - The Average American is as Mad as Hell. :grr:

9. I sincerely hope that you are right, and don't face the horrible
crushing blow that many of us were left with after Nov 2, 2004!!

13. I know that I'm right because I know the immaturity of those who
love authority figures, namely the Right Wing republicans.

You can tell you're winning when, despite all the cheer-leading by the M$M, the people are still polling the opposite of how the Pundits (O'reilly, Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, Weiner, Bortz, etc) tell them TO THINK. The bad news filters down to the Campaign Manages who counsel their politicians to get even more personal on character attacks. Finally, the Republican candidates themselves are already tasting the bitter taste of imminent defeat.

Hang tough fellow DU troopers, they'll get a whole lot more NASTY, if not OUTRIGHTLY VICIOUS before we go to the polls *en masse* to vote their stinking' kool-aid drinking asses out of office.

Don't believe the M$M, believe what you see on the streets and people you meet at PTO meetings and in line at the grocery.

WE (The Democratic Party Candidates) are going to seriously KICK ASS if we don't believe the spewing disinformation that the "paid off" media whores are trying to spin.

It really is hell, fighting The Establishment Press as well as The Republicans. However, I honestly believe that we have the insight, strength and integrity to "hang tough."

No Slack! You chicken-hawk Republican LOSERS! Payback will be a MF because we'll figuratively "Take No Prisoners" come election day. :evilgrin: :thumbsup: :patriot:

8. The same shuffle and tap dancing, the same shunning poor folk,
and heaven forbid, they would actually do something about protecting our votes, or taking care of homeless people and veterans, or.....

Nope, I've seen waaaay too many disappointing shenanigans.

Oh yeah, but I must include the obligatory.... "But, they're not as bad as the RW".

11. I doubt
a bunch of rich people will ever do anything that benefits anyone or anything other than their wallets and that includes both democrats and republicans. Maybe I'm just feeling a bit low today, but we need a government by the people not by rich congressmen and women who benefit from a stock market that is rigged and corporate dominance. The iraq war is all about profiting from someone else's resources and maintaining the american dollar as the sole currency for purchasing oil.

Now I'd like to believe the dems would move to impeach, withdraw from iraq and do something to clean up the corrupt corporate lobbying machine that is in the way of true democracy here in our country, but the past seven years have weighed so heavily upon me that I have little faith in anything anymore. I'll still vote democratic with the tiny sliver of hope I have left, but since so many dems supported the stupid war in iraq and have signed off on so many of the current administration's policies I'm not gonna be surprised if nothing changes much.

chance that they'll impeach Bush.

Edited on Wed Sep-13-06 05:19 PM by ShortnFiery
we need to hold those accountable by voting them out to their next Democratic Primary challenger. ;) We need to keep notes and not forget when they are up for re-election.

Our representatives need to know that their re-election is not automatic if they do not put the interests of The Average Working American first and foremost! That definitely includes protecting Our Civil Liberties against a wannabe Dictator and his Criminal Cabal. :grr:

17. I would hope for a real investigation into 9/11
Put both Bush and Cheney under oath this time and ask:

1) Bush about his business dealings with the bin-Laden family going back several decades;
2) Bush about why he did nothing when told about the attacks;
3) Bush about letting OBL's siblings fly out of US when all commercial aircraft was grounded and before they could be questioned by FBI, CIA, etc.
4) Bush why he didn't consider Saudi Arabia to be a terrorist nation, even when 15 of the 17 attackers carried Saudi passports;
5) Cheney about his company's dealings with Saddam during the 1990s;
6) Cheney about the no-bid contracts for Halliburton;
7) Cheney about who outed Plame;
8) Cheney about why Bush can't answer questions for himself.

I would really love to hear the answers to these questions...
