Where can I find info on the 5 Halliburton holding areas or prisons
being built in the U.S.? I haven't come up with anything on searching. Was there a different term to describe them?

1. perhaps search for immigrant/KBR
This year's contracts include: a $385 million award to Halliburton subsidiary KBR to establish temporary detention and processing capabilities in the event of an emergency influx of immigrants, and a $308 million to $750 million contract with Unisys to continue building, securing and managing the information technology infrastructure for the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration, one of its agencies.

10. Thanks for that link.
That may help me find the article with drawings/photos, locations, etc. I'm sure it was around the time of Katrina. I was mistaken in naming Halliburton, when my brain kept saying K?R -- couldn't remember the KBR -- but I figured Halliburton would catch it, as KBR is a subsidiary, right?

Thanks again!

11. Yeah, that was my first thought, too.
Isn't it sad that we've come to that level of paranoia?

12. Yes, I'm using DU, but I used Halliburton rather than KBR.
I was sure it was KBR, but couldn't remember the "B". I figured since Halliburton was the parent company, it would pop up. I'll try again with KBR. I can see the drawings in my mind's eye, but that doesn't email very well. :P

Thanks!

9. Frankly, I'm not sure that they actually exist.
I've never heard anything about them being sited, constructed, progress reports, anything of that sort. The deal to build them may have been strictly a paper agreement. God knows Halliburton is good at that sort of thing.

14. Does Halliburton get paid for the "paper" too?
I know they put them "on notice" to hold open a spot in case they actually need what the contracts call for, but I thought this "project" was past the drawing board stage. I may be all wet.
