1-888-5-OPTOUT (Opt out of pre-screened/pre-approved credit offers)
This notice was provided in a 'pre-approved' credit card offer that I recently received; I thought it might be of use to other DUers...

If you do not want to receive prescreened offers of credit, call the consumer reporting agencies toll-free @ 1-888-5-OPTOUT (1-888-567-8688) or write to any of the following consumer reporting agencies:

    Experian Information Solutions
    P.O. Box 919
    Allen, TX 75103

    Equifax Options
    P.O Box 740123
    Atlanta, GA 30374-0123

    Trans Union
    P.O. Box 505
    Woodlyn, PA 19094-0505

1. Thanks!
Although I will miss stuffing their postage paid envelopes with all sorts of "goodies" for return to them.

7. Thank you for the feedback; glad to know that it works!
I only called this morning before posting.

Typically I never read past the "Congratulations! You have been pre-approved for a..." on these offers. After opening yet another one today, I thought "God, I wish there was a way to opt out of this garbage." Lo & behold, I looked down at the paper again & saw the opt-out notice... which may be on all of these offers, but as I said, I never read past the first few words.

Looking forward to less junk mail now!

10. Thank you!
I did this a year or 2 ago, and it was sooooo nice! Not to have to worry so much about identity theft with EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF MAIL we get.

We are drowning in these stupid things, but I think our last time must have expired, because they started up again worse than ever.

14. Thnx for the online address, just did my disabled daughter who
can't get to her mailbox often. Plus, it's been the target recently of the delinquents "mailbox baseball" antics.
