Once upon a time we were a super power...
How quick the mighty have fallen. We are now closer to a third world dictatorship. We are despised around the world. Our military has more or less been de-mystified and we have lost any military superiority we may have held in the perceptions by other nations. We have lost the ability to invest in our people because of the huge debt run up by this group of neo-cons. A true American would feel ashamed at where our nation is today. We have nothing - absolutely nothing - to be proud of as a people. We have permitted the leaders to scare us into giving up our liberties. We have fallen prey to political demagogues. America should be ashamed...

4. Change is the only constant
With change, even however true your remarks, will change again.

5. I too am ashamed of the USA, but hell, who wants to be a super power
anyway? There's too much shit to take care of, foreign aid and wars and world policing and polluting and all. I just wish that people could see the world as the astronauts do, as a blue green ball in space that all of us live on. Some day, if the human race lives that long, there will be no borders, no individual countries, just humans having fun.
