Laura Bush Aiding Clinton Conference
Sep 14 9:42 PM US/Eastern

By JENNIFER LOVEN
Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON

Another member of the Bush family is getting cozy with former President Clinton.

First lady Laura Bush joins the former president as a keynote speaker opening his three-day Clinton Global Initiative in New York next week.

Clinton has famously formed a close friendship with the current president's dad. Clinton has been a repeat guest at the Kennebunkport, Maine, home of George H.W. Bush and his wife, Barbara.

Clinton also sparked curiosity when he was spotted at the White House last month. It turns out that he and the current president were having lunch, something White House aides said they do occasionally.

2. Sort of lends itself to tinfoil hat theories about groups who appear

to oppose each other who are really running the world in cahoots.

:tinfoilhat:

They went to Yale or Harvard or wherever, they've held public office, and have a lot in common, when you think about it, at least as to lifestyle, if not political views. Middle class people may socialize while being on different ends of the political spectrum, so maybe this is just an upper class version of that. As to being President, who else can understand? In a way it is understandable Bill might want to talk to them. Just so long as he doesn't reveal Hillary's campaign strategies.

3. Bush* needs to learn how to be a Republican and Clinton is teaching him.
Clinton was probably the best Republican President since Ike.
