Is the Terror Card the Only One Left for Republicans - because
Edited on Fri Sep-15-06 11:51 AM by leftyladyfrommo
that's all I'm hearing - day in and day out.

And it is getting really awful and obnoxious. Everytime I see a Republican they are spouting terror warnings - Muslims are out to get us and take away all of our freedom.

But that is it - that's all there is? That is the whole Republican platform?

And strongarming - that seems to be other buzzword.

Jeez, I hope other people see thru this stuff.

3. Well the republicans are no better than the terrorists.
Terrorists want people to live in fear, and change their life due to that fear.

The republicans are the same way. They can not win on economy, social security, health care, military reform, or the war. So they want us to be afraid, so we vote for them, they want us living in fear, so they can keep oppressing the American people. So they are no better than the terrorists, they rule by fear.

4. We have an awful Republican ad here in KC
It is all about the terrorists and how they are out to kill us and take away our freedoms.

It's really awful. And also chock full of inaccurate statements.

5. Yep, they want people afraid.
Fear the big bad terrorists, or gays, or stem cell killers, or the democrats. Republican parents must of raised their kids with the threat of the boogey man. I mean they live with this constant terror of evreything, and they want people to have those same terrors.

11. Well one definition given is...
"Fascism may be defined as a form of political behavior marked by obsessive preoccupation with community decline, humiliation, or victim-hood and by compensatory cults of unity, energy, and purity, in which a mass-based party of committed nationalist militants, working in uneasy but effective collaboration with traditional elites, abandons democratic liberties and pursues with redemptive violence and without ethical or legal restraints goals of internal cleansing and external expansion." <4>

Merriam-Webster defines fascism as "a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition"<3>.

Both kind of nail the Repukes form of government right on the head.

12. Epiphany ..
And I'm going to spread it around. Bush wants permission to deny freedoms, while he hoots "freedom". He wants a war against "Terror", while he seeks permission to torture (terrorize) according to his law. In other words, he wants full control and license to rule according to George.

He truly rules from insanity. He is NOT King. Taxpayers pay good money to avoid this kind of corruption. I call for our legal system to deal with this cancer. Now.

7. In reality, I don't think they even have that one.....
An honest look at the terror issue will show that this is their biggest failing at the cost of thousands of innocent lives and virtually 0 benefit for this country.

But, it is one that the MSM feel that they can spin sufficiently to give their Corporate GOP masters a glimmer of hope to hold on to power.
