If Bush goes up in the polls, does that mean Congress goes up also?

Bush is out there lying his ass off and scaring the crap out of people but will that really accomplish what he wants? After all, he is not running for re-election - only the Republican House and Senate. If Repubs start to feel better about this incompetent Bozo, does that mean they will turn around and vote for their Congressman also? I'm not so sure. Not even Republicans are that stupid....are they?

and its difficult to use Congressional approval ratings as a yardstick - it depends on the individual candidates for Congress.

But the lower Bush's approval rating sinks, the more it drags down GOP candidates in general. Whether they rise with Bush's approval rating is less certain.

they dispute him. That is now happening.

3. A point or two here and there during 9/11 week means very little.....

Iraq and Afghanistan will continue to unravel between now and November. Yeah, gas prices are down, but people are more ynical now. They pretty much realize that after the election, they'll get screwed again.

Enough of the base is demoralized that I really don't believe they can turn it around, at this point. Sure do hope I'm right.

4. I actually think Bush is hurting the Republicans...

They are desperately trying to runaway from him, but that's hard to do when you got Bush on TV everyday either exploiting September 11th or defending torture.

The public doesn't seem to be buying it anymore.
