hey. finally checked back in here after so long away. I saw Hawkeyex was pining away for some of the others who've been around.

Just thought I would say I am encouraged about progressives' chances this fall....but wondering if it will matter anymore.

I'm so beat up and bloody after these 5 and a half years and I'm sure others are too. How can we reciver from all the shit Bush has smeared all over everything?

I had such high hopes for this life and the world around us in 99 and 2000. Now just shattered by willfully evil people trying to restore order to their heirarchical society feeding the rich first.

God, I'm depressed.

Who would have thought we'd be discussing pro-torture and anti-torture factions in our Senate?

I was where you are some for some time. It was wearing me down; breaking me down. I didn't know what to do half the time.

Then, I decided that I wasn't going to let these assholes destroy my life, my inherent happiness and optimism. I put up a new signature on my DU and I started finding and posting optimistic projections for November.

Hey Pretzel, things are lookin' reeeeeeeal good. No Dem seats in serious trouble and about 60 Repug seats in play. Some strategists are saying that the Dems won't lose a single seat in the House whereas the Repugs could lose thirty.

Things are really ugly for the Repukes. REALLY UGLY! That's why they are fighting so hard. But their lunatic rubbish is the *reason why* they are in trouble. They are clueless to the fact that more rubbish can hurt them more.

Read the Pew Research paper posted yesterday for some very, very good news. The Republicans have no more issues other than security and that might not get the job done this fall because Dems are attacking their credibility on that very issue. Check out this week's advert from the Menendez (D-NJ Senate) campaign. It's a duzie.
