We shouldn't confuse being "sensitive" to "different faiths" with defending BATSHIT CRAZY RELIGIOUS FANATICS no matter how big a percentage of the religion they make up.

These people are crazy and just because they aren't a majority in our country yet they should be laughed at and derided because in our own country we have 20% of voters just like them (same BATSHIT INSANITY, different god) whose agenda nobody should be "sensitive" to.

which is not to excuse the Pope's remarks. I think the reason why right wing white American fundamentalist Christians don't riot in protest of the things that offend them is because they already have a president who drops bombs and kills non-Christian people all over the world.

3. I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not....

...but in any event, for years I've always thought that when people on the right and whoever else in the "centrist, moderate, mushy middle" claimed that people on the left (particularly either atheists or die hard civil libertarians/church and state separation people) tolderated behavior from "minority" religions that we never would from christians that they were being ridiculous and making shit up (as they usually do). But when I saw people on this forum and others reacting sympathetically to the riots over the cartoons, I started to wonder if they were right.

I'm not a pacifist by any means and I think that rioting and what have you is in times of horrid oppression and in response to physical violence is a necessary evil. But over cartoons? Over what some dottering old man in a frock says? It's the kind of fanatical, absurd behavior that I mock and condemn in christians and whoever else would engage in such idiotic responses so I'm not going to let it slide because it's a "minority religion".

Fine, flame away at me for this. Call me a freeper. Whatever. It's how I feel.
