Where does Joe Lieberman stand on this "torture" issue ?

Does he agree with Bush? Does he think it is not really "torture"? Inquiring minds want to know. The voters of Connecticut need to know. Perhaps he has a "middle" position he would like to offer??

1. He's obviously in favor of torturing the people of Connecticut! -nt

He strongly supported Senator McCain's amendment, which prohibited the "cruel, inhuman, or degrading" punishment of anyone-including detainees-held in custody by the U.S. government. Senator Lieberman was deeply disturbed by the events that took place at Abu Ghraib, and participated in several Senate Armed Services committee hearings where testimony was taken from a variety of Defense Department officials regarding the Abu Ghraib prison and actions taken there."

3. He's against it

At least, he WAS against it the last time he spoke out on the topic, maybe a year ago. He might have changed; I don't keep up with him much.

I'm one of those Evil DUers who thinks Lieberman isn't all bad, and I never got angry enough at him to pay that much attention. But I'm still glad Ned Lamont won.

4. He's totally opposed...

...to the horrible torture being meted out against him by the Democrats of Connecticut by supporting Ned Lamont and not giving him an automatic seat in the Senate for life. ;-)
