of people. I am very afraid this way of thinking will take over. We need to have a mode of attack as this:

Don't insult the people - don't call them hillbillies or rednecks, etc.

Talk to them, ask them who controls the money for the religious movement? What political parties or groups back them? What will they do to help their kids in school, how will they help them in jobs?

Ask, what will they do to help benefit the people there?

Open dialogue and ability to care will help us in the long run. We need to try and reach out to even the most evangelical people. Go door-to-door talk with them. Understand their concerns.

The thing that terrifies me is that I see powerful people who are radicalizing christianity doing the same thing here--evil people in our country are radicalizing christianity for their own agenda. The christian coalition was/is created and run by politicos. They seek political power by influencing people within their churches. That's the political wing. Then when they convinced enough church leaders to join their cause and had enough political power, they then effected policy to have created faith based initiatives which gives the gop an excuse to abandon our social services for "charity". This is the social service wing. Now their military wing is still under construction, but the bombings of women's health clinics should certainly be seen as a guerilla warfare arm of their "movement".

All religions can be abused and used for nefarious purposes, christianity is no exception. It is an uncomfortable thought that this is going on here, but I assure you it is.

They work to repeal state benefits while they take money from the very government they rebel against. I have never, in my whole life, seen people as completely evil as the Religious Right.
