He was upset over increasing censorship of his work. He said something to the effect that if he wrote a story about Congress, it would never get aired. However, put the same story on another planet and call it Science Fiction, and you could say anything you want.

Much of Classic Science Fiction was very political and full of social commentary.

9. You might be happy to know that Rod Serling's "The Monsters Are

Due on Maple Street" is in one of the Florida Editions of Prentice Hall's Literature books.

I have had occasion to read it with the students in two different schools. The kids are encoraged to delved deep into the meaning of the story during the discussion phase of the lesson.
