they revel in their ignorance
i was reading the mike_c/trg thing and i am convinced freeptards are insane cult members on a par with the manson family.

bravado trumps reason in their world.

personal insult carries the same weight as fact to them.

illogic, every form of logical fallacy is watertight and sound critical thinking to them.

they are a perversion, they are deaf and dumb; they are muted by their lickspittle subservience to a mongoloid president who inspires more ridicule than anything.

i mean, jesus christ, if you're gonna get behind someone so vehemently, so utterly without restraint, so completely--you'd think they'd find a better PERSON to support unquestioningly. george w. bush is a bad person. that is the resonance, that's what makes what is seemingly inexplicable understandable to me now.

these are simply bad people. they are walking vacuums of error.

there is no point in engaging them. they can't hear, they won't listen, they are locked in a cult. they have their "glorious leader."

allegations could come out tomorrow that dubya is a child molester and people like trg would configure some way to defend it and paint any critic as an unamerican traitor.

none of this new. it's the case with any true believer who is susceptible to fundamentalism and fanaticism.

1. I wisecracked on another thread about this
that you can't convince one of these cultists with facts. They can only be buried by events.

The coming economic collapse will wake a few of them up. There's nothing like losing everything to smack a true believer between the eyes with a metaphorical 2x4 and break the spell.

Katrina woke a whole lot of folks up, remember. That's the kind of thing it takes.

The only reason to dialog with any of them is to organize your own thoughts on a subject in preparation for writing a LTTE or even an article for publication.

In fact, I even saw a few of these cultists here (one of 'em doomers even succeeded to pile in more than 1000 posts before leaving with their usual - and pathetic - insults).

5. Here in the Mad as Hell household, we call them...
...the Upside-Down people.
Everything they "think," all of their beliefs are upside-down to reality.
They're consistent in this.
And you CAN engage them and make your point.
The only problem is you have to do it using THEIR language and THEIR mindset.
It's very difficult for a rational person to do that, but it can be done with some practice.

Of course, the reality of it is that there are too many of them and it's simply not worth the effort.
They are a waste of valuable brain matter.
The only thing we can hope for is that more of them get caught up in their war on the "Islamic Fascist" upside-down people and they all just end up eliminating each other.
Of course, "our" upside-down people tend to not join the military.
Their brand of "Christian" upside-downism tells them that the "patriotic" thing to do is to let other people fight their battles for them...
