A little info for those who may not know: the "Ronnie" she mentions several times in the speech is Ronnie Dugger, founder of the Texas Observer. This speech is from the 50th anniversary celebration of the Observer in December, 2004.

was so indicative of her personality: a combination of common sense, wit, style, & the talent and delivery of the most spell-bounding stand-up comediennes. The fact that her common sense brought her to the Democratic Party makes me proud.
