This is weird (Time magazine vs. geography)

A deployment of minesweepers to the east coast of Iran would seem to suggest that a much discussed, but until now largely theoretical, prospect has become real: that the U.S. may be preparing for war with Iran.

Can someone please help me find the east coast of Iran?

1. Rotate the map 90 degrees counterclockwise.
Voila--an East Coast.

2. Does that mean
I can go to Fiji and be the first explorer to reach the West Pole?

was Lech Walesa.

3. Nit picking.

I guess the waters in between Bandar-e-Lengeh and the outermost tip of the UAE would be the East coast of Iran (and a perfect place to deploy mines).

6. So why not call it the "southeast coast" or "eastern south coast"?

I don't consider it nit-picking at all.

on edit: I think that area is called the Strait of Hormuz.

4. We know where the nuclear facilities are...
They're on the east coast of Iran, north of Rasht, and somwhere around the Congo. Goodness, yes.

7. They probably meant east of the Strait of Hormuz
The Strait being the most critical strategic place
where oil transport could be easily stopped
and where the Iranians have their Chinese
Sunburn missiles placed.
One tanker blown up there could choke off
oil transport from Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia,
Bahrain, Qatar and the U.A.E. for years
while the wreckage is cleared.
That's why any US attack must first take out
those Sunburns by surprise. The Sunburn missiles travel
at such speed that our anti-ship missile defenses are
useless. Quite an amazing missile the Chinese developed!

Our bestest friends and creditors, the Chinese.
