IT IS TOO LATE REPUBS, you HAD your chance
I'm really growing weary of hearing how repub this and repub that are now coming out siding against the bush administration. Sure that's great, but you know what? THE DAMAGE IS DONE. Our reputation as the world's Good Guys is severely damaged, over 3000 Americans have died in Iraq, over 100,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed, the Treasury has been plundered by oil companies and defense contractors profiting from war, and our economy, despite all the cheer leading from the admin, is actually in terrible shape, and the citizens of our country must fear for what they say lest they be labeled terrorists and be subject to wiretapping without a warrant. Our U.S. Constitution has been looked at as a "God damned piece of paper" (--George W. Bush), instead of the outline of Democracy that it has been the basis for the free country for over 200 years.

repubs can say all they want now, it's easy and they need something to stand on. Well where the hell were they when they could have prevented the dark ages of America? Where were they when they could have put a stop to the insanity of another bush administration? Where were they when they could stand up and say, "No, Mr. Bush, you can't have your tax cuts for the wealthy, you can't cut medicaid and you can't give defense contractors and oil companies corporate welfare!" or "No, Mr. Bush, the intelligence reports were wrong, and it appears you made up the evidence to take us to war, you can't be president anymore!" or "No, Mr. Bush, you can't spy on Americans and you can't torture people... our soldiers lives depend on the Geneva Convention, a treaty that we must honor to the fullest according to that 'God-damned piece of paper' you call our Constitution."

Some would say, well, it's better late then never that they are waking up. I say, no, it's TERRIBLE that it is this late. The damage is done and it's going to take GENERATIONS to repair, if it is at all repairable. The reparations begin with impeaching bush and his entire administration and sending them to the Hague for war crimes. The reparations continue when republicans stand aside and allow democrats to do the real work that is needed to rebuild our great government and its reputation that they have single-handedly destroyed. The reparations begin when our soldiers can come home and every wounded soldier is cared for in the fashion they deserve, not what the republicans think they can afford. The reparations begin when Americans elect democrats in November 2006. And if the republicans try to steal this election too, the reparations begin when each state and local government seek out those criminals trying to destroy our democracy through diebold and es&s.

The republicans HAD their chance. They are done. And they know it. Do not let them side against the administration for re-election purposes. Let Americans see the albatross about their necks. Let this be an end to their corrupt government they created. Let this be a new beginning for America.

1. Rethugs are now desperately trying to save their own political
backsides...

I know what you mean, for instance, Graham saying that there are 3 branches of Gov in the US and it only took him 6 years to make such a statement. Go figure.

6. Morally you are probably right
But I doubt that's how it will end up - I suspect that we are do not have the power to write off effectively the Republican party.

The moral questions and the Tactical questions rarely have mutually satisfactory answers.
