Help me catch up on NEWS from May 11th to now
I have been without TV, newspapers and the web since my 2 week stay at county jail back in May. Been homeless and now in a treatment center. Please post your top ten stories that you feel were important
to Democrats since May.

I still only can access the web from the library, and won't get back to this until next week, once I log off today.

Today I am looking at the Olberman stuff and GD and KOS. I only have 30 minutes left. Anyone who would like to write me snail mail, PM me your name and address, and I'll write ASAP.

1. More GOP scandal; More GOP talking points; More M$M acquiescence

7. Best of luck on rebooting your life...
The biggest story seems to be Bush and GOP rubber stamps in Congress trying to cover their asses re: torture and military tribunals.

3. Members of the Bush administration have continued to lie to the world
on all topics.

That's it.

8. Does that bring back memories
Or rather lack of them. I'm remembering when I was getting clean, some years ago, that people would talk about some newsworthy event and I would be clueless - gradually I realized 'oh, that happened during the "lost years"'. Hang in there, it'll get better. DU can be a bit depressing. If I were your sponsor I'd tell you to get the hell off this board and go smell some roses or something, but you know, take what you like and all.

Good luck!!

9. Thanks
Been sober for over 4 months, still clearing the unmanageable parts. Just missed a lot of news while out of the loop (not chemically, just access to it).

10. The international situation is desperate (as usual). . .
and domestic affairs are anything but tranquil. Upheaval seems in order while the status quo seems increasingly radical. There are signs of pending change amid indications of continuing stability. If there's solace to be found, it's in the Persian proverb: And this, too, shall pass away. . .

Good luck with recovery. You can do it, you know. Plenty of people have made it before you.
