BUSH BASHING PIG HITS MADISON SQUARE GARDEN

Sun Sep 17 2006 18:53:38 ET

ROGER WATERS CONCERT TOUR HITS NORTH AMERICA AND NYC WITH FLYING PIGS, URGING DEM VOTES IN ELECTION, 'IMPEACH BUSH' WRITTEN ON REAR OF PIG FLOATING OVER AUDIENCE...

One concertgoer writes: 'Seeing Bush's name written across the pig's arse made me howl'... The pig had graffiti. 'New Yorkers/Don't be led to the slaughter/Vote November 7'... another attendee played off the hit 'Another Brick in the Wall': ''We don't need no thought control,' even from Mr. Waters'...

Another sends a review: 'I attended the Roger Waters 9/15 show at Jones Beach, Wantagh, NY. At one point during the show Waters juxtaposed pictures of the President, Karl Rove, Ronald Reagan, and Margaret Thatcher with pictures of Osama bin Laden, Mao Zedong, Stalin, and other world tyrants. Rogers asked whether 'these people are really are enemies'. This took place during his anti-Bush/Blair song 'Leaving Beirut' in which he claimed 'that Texas education must have really f*cked you up' and asked why Tony the 'US poodle/pawn' is a warmongerer'...

4. "A nod's as good as a wink to a blind horse."
May he soon be bacon.

OT: How's it looking to de-Sensenbrenner the Congress?

:hi:

8. I'm hopeful, but that's just me...
I have no solid information, but I'm guessing if F. Jim holds onto his corpulent seat, it'll be by the slimmest margin ever.

Splunge!!

:hi: Bro.

3. Meanwhile across the street the same night ...

one of the greatest two or three living guitarists was playing at Hammerstein Ballroom for about a third as much ... $45.
Jeff Beck.
No politics at that show, just absolutely transcendent music.
(that's where I was, despite my respect for Waters)

7. I love Jeff Beck and I'd rather have been there too!
He is truly one of the greatest. Beck's Bolero will always be one of my favorites.

5. Just got home from a Democratic fundraiser
for a local candidate (Nancy Boyda, running in KS 2nd CD). It was packed. Anyway, this was the first post I saw and I'm glad to be #5.

:kick: and

6. are you all familiar with the final cut
one of my favs. the fletcher memorial home..

take all your overgrown infants away somewhere
and build them a home a little place of their own
the fletcher memorial
home for incurable tyrants and kings
and they can appear to themselves every day
on closed circuit t.v.
to make sure they're still real
it's the only connection they feel
"ladies and gentlemen, please welcome reagan and haig
mr. begin and friend mrs. thatcher and paisley
mr. brezhnev and party
the ghost of mccarthy
the memories of nixon
and now adding colour a group of anonymous latin
american meat packing glitterati"
did they expect us to treat them with any respect
they can polish their medals and sharpen their
smiles, and amuse themselves playing games for a while
boom boom, bang bang, lie down you're dead
safe in the permanent gaze of a cold glass eye
with their favourite toys
they'll be good girls and boys
in the fletcher memorial home for colonial
wasters of life and limb
is everyone in?
are you having a nice time?
now the final solution can be applied

i'll chip in for the air travel.
