Gallatin mayor let 'Thong Girl 3' be filmed in his office
He says he didn't know subject of comic book movie

By KATRINA CORNWELL
The News Examiner

GALLATIN — Mayor Don Wright has raised eyebrows in town by allowing the makers of "Thong Girl 3" to film in his office on a Sunday.
Wright says he supports filmmaking for economic development in town and only knew generally what the movie was about.
"They told me it was a film about a superhero woman and there was no nudity or any kind of offensive stuff in the film," Wright said.

*****

"I feel that if he used the city property to allow the filming of such a movie, that it's extremely degrading to the citizens of Gallatin, and I think it's totally unacceptable," District 2 City Councilman Dale Bennett said.

*****

White House filmmaker Glen Weiss stressed that his movie is "family friendly."
"This is definitely a PG-13 movie. There's no nudity, no cussing and no sex. The family can go to this," Weiss said.
"We go to comic book conventions. Kids come up to her. She has a cape on. She's very modest," he said.

Kids come up to her at conventions?

Really?

And the laser beams coming from her ass don't scare them?

From the http://thonggirlfilms.com/story.htm">thonggirl website:

While shopping at a lingerie store one day, Lana Layonme, an assistant district attorney, discovered a very special thong with magical powers. She found that by donning this unique red thong, she had the ability to fly. She also possessed superhuman strength and, much to her surprise (and initial shock) discovered that she was able to fire laser beams from her ass! She found that by donning this unique red thong, she had the ability to fly. She also possessed superhuman strength and, much to her surprise (and initial shock) discovered that she was able to fire laser beams from her ass!

Appealing to her inherent do-gooder nature as a crusader for legal justice, she assumed the awesome responsibility of keeping Music City , USA safe from unlawfulness and corruption in the guise of THONG GIRL! Together with her superhero sidekick BoxerBrief Boy (aka Andy Andrews, hairdresser to the country stars) Thong Girl polices the skies of Music City with an iron fist and a fiery butt, making sure the city is safe for law-abiding citizens and hat-wearing country stars alike.

Thong Girl faces off against her nemesis, the Dark Widow, who's out to take over country music and turn its artists into rappers

34. I live right across the river in Lebanon and I had to go to DU
to hear about this!

Gallatin is Fundy Wacko Central

It's home to Trinity City
HQ of the Trinity Broadcast Network

I know what the old Geezers who meet every
morning down at Hardee's are talking about

36. Howdy, Neighbor!

I'm just north of the border and I work with people from Gallatin.

Fundy Wacko Central is right, that's why this is so priceless!
I'm not sure why they chose Gallatin instead of any other town, but if I had to guess, I'm sure the fact that it's TBN's home had a LOT to do with it.

4. Yep
No clue at all that a film called "Thong Girl 3" might be somewhat, ahem, inappropriate.

Now, if it had been "Thong Girl 1" or "Thong Girl 2" it might have been more evident.

And if you know anything about Tennessee, you just KNOW this will come back to haunt poor old Mayor Wright.

Or, should I say "soon to be ex-Mayor Wright"?

I swear, you couldn't make this stuff up.

I take it he is a Republican(?)

In that case he might even make it to the top 10. He seems dumb enough. On the other hand, there's so much competition for the top 10 these days.

This thing looks astoundingly low budg.

...Reminds me of my days in film school, with an outlay that covered a couple rolls of black and white 16mm film, a rented clown suit, and a bag of seedy mexican ditch weed.

But I'm sure they could use the dough, they were hit with two tornadoes last spring that caused extensive damage.

But I just don't see any avalanche of revenue coming out of this thing. Maybe I'm wrong. Clearly the laser beam shooting ass has never been done before.

25. "The Onion couldn't even compete with this."
truer words never spoken. it's like living through the funniest and most ridiculous 6 years in political history and stuck in church where you can't just belt out a guffaw. the times, they're so serious, so bad, so... ludicrous. sometimes i feel like i'm gonna blow my humor meter. it's like the comedian's version of hell: reality does a better job than you can in poking fun of itself, but the results are so sad that you also feel an overwhelming dismay at the same time.

37. A noble end to the trilogy
Thank goodness that they found the funding--and a mayor willing to grant film-space--for this weighty production. Think of the fanbase, left otherwise to wonder about the ultimate fate of Thong Girl.

But if you ask me, they missed a golden opportunity here. Assuming that this is the last film in the cycle, it should be titled Thong Girl III: Thwan Thong.
