Got an interesting email from my "religious right" dad this morn.

I had sent him an email asking "Who would Jesus torture?"

And here are some excerpts from his response:

"You worry about the torture thing, and so do I...Sadly, the president has manipulated the "religious right"... The majority of the group blindly followed him because of his supposed beliefs. The Lord only knows he's a believer or not. But, just because he's a believer does not automatically make him right. I grieve over our country too. What we have now is a society forced to live in fear, and the Christian faith made to look foolish by a figure head whose conduct and character is so opposite from what he espouses."

So, it seems my dad has seen the light about Bush. Sadly, it comes after voting for him twice.

It's all an act to generate votes! Send your dad an E-mail and tell him I am so proud of him and that it is incumbent on him to enlighten his fellow lost souls.

2. I disagree with your Dad on one point

bush did not manipulate the "religious right." They were so fucking ignorant he didn't have to do anything. Many continue to proudly display their ignorance. All of them are domestic enemies of the constitution.

Besides there is no torture. Its just a club med for detainees. You know how heroes like limbaugh have that all figured out. Ya know, manly men like limbaugh who defended our country under the hail of gunfire. You know that guy!
