CBS Denies Maher's Statement
In an e-mail to TVNewser, CBS responds to Bill Maher:

"Bill Maher was never told that he couldn't discuss religion in a 'Free Speech' segment," Rome Hartman, executive producer of the CBS Evening News, said. "In fact, 'Free Speech' has already addressed religion and we expect others will in the future."

I swear to god I thought I was the only person who heard her say that on her first broadcast. It amazes me that nobody said anything about it at all. I sent an email to cbs about it and of course they didn't respond. Katie Couric is the daughter of a former high school principal. You would think that she would know american history. I have not watched the evening news since that night.

The man may piss me off sometimes because I may not like some of what he says--but that's the point. A person trying to paint Maher as a liar sounds like a liar and a fool.
